Search engine giant Google extended its support to the Maharashtra government to make Mumbai a ‘Wifi city’.
A team of Google led by Vinay Goel met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in San Francisco and extended their support to make Mumbai a Wifi city,” a statement from Chief Minister’s office said, according to a report.
Under the initiative of smart city, the Maharashtra government is planning to turn economic capital into a Wi-Fi city with over 1,200 hotspots.
The Chief Minister’s Office issued a note and Google officials showed interest to partner with the state.
Fadnavis today confirmed his 2 day visit to the US after meeting APCO CEO and President Evan Kraus and Sabse Technologies CEO Sabeer Bhatia.
He also Jerry Brown, California Governor and shared some issues related to clean energy, environment and urbanisation.
They also discussed few ways to collaborate between state of California and Maharashtra government for clean energy, the statement said.
