Olympic silver medalist P.V. Sindhu received a warm welcome by the people in Andhra Pradesh state for bringing India a medal that worth a lot.
Large crowd gathered on either side of the road to welcome Sindhu as she, along with her coach Pullela Gopichand, were embarked on another open-top-motorcade from Gannavaram airport to Indira Gandhi Stadium.
Sindhu along with her parents and some ministers of Andhra Pradesh waved at the huge crowd. She shared her happiness and kept displaying her Olympic medal proudly, according to a report.
After the victory rally she will reach Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium where she will be grandly felicitated.
Earlier, N. Chinarajappa, Deputy Chief Minister and other ministers welcomed PvSindhu and Gopichand with cheers of smiles and with lot of respects and they began rally in a special aircraft from Hyderabad.
As Sindhu’s parents were having roots in Andhra Pradesh, many of her relatives were present among those who accorded her a warm welcome.
The Andhra Pradesh government has made lot of arrangements for a rousing reception to honour star shuttler, who has became the 1st Indian to win a silver medal at Olympics.
There was also special arrangement made for PVSindhu and Gopichand and they will take a holy dip in Krishna river on the last day of 12-day long river festival “Krishna Pushkaralu.”
